Policy and global cues (on/before 11 Sep 2026)

No new BNM move. OPR remains 2.75%.

Session drivers: Brent above US$105, US 10-year yields near 4.95%, Wall Street softness, and US–Iran shipping risk. Thursday night’s US PPI (final demand +0.4% m/m, +5.4% y/y) had already lifted Fed-hike talk into the 15–16 September FOMC. US August CPI was due after the Bursa close (evening MYT): the print later showed +0.4% m/m and +3.4% y/y — in line/stubborn, not a relief surprise. During Friday’s cash session that number was still ahead, so books stayed light.

Analysts called the sell-off external. Domestic growth (BNM’s ~5% 2026 view) was not the issue.

Week in brief (7–11 Sep)

Mon–Wed coil near 1,714. Thu break to 1,705. Fri flush to 1,687. Gloves were the only consistent bid. Zetrix volume faded after the MYEG Ventures bounce and Bursa queries.
