The FBM KLCI started the new week almost unchanged on Monday, 21 September 2026. The index closed at 1,666.94, up 1.38 points or 0.08% from Friday’s 1,665.56. Open 1,664.20, high 1,674.74, low 1,661.22. A small blue-chip bid after last week’s slide, not a trend change.
Breadth mixed-to-positive depending on the count (about 548–654 up vs 552–559 down). Turnover cooled to 2.93–3.41 billion shares, value about RM2.5–2.8 billion, after Friday’s RM4.87 billion rush. Energy led sectors; industrials lagged. Ringgit around 4.07–4.08.

Tenaga: TA and Affin Hwang cut to Hold after TNB said it would absorb about RM120–150 million of AFA/surcharge/service-tax costs for Sept–Dec 2026 (protection threshold lifted to 800 kWh). Targets cut (TA RM13.80; Affin RM12.50). Stock was flat on the day.

Stabilisation, not a reclaim of 1,670–1,675. Midday poked 1,670.80 then faded. CGS still watching the YTD low near 1,655. Energy rotation and banks did the heavy lifting; last week’s tech/construction winners mean-reverted.
