Policy and global cues (on/before 9 Sep 2026)

No new BNM move. The OPR remains 2.75% after the 3 September hold.

External drivers: elevated oil (inflation pass-through risk), Fed hike odds after last Friday’s strong US payrolls, and the pending US CPI print. Analysts flagged that sticky energy costs could keep global tightening talk alive. Technical view: short-term band, resistance 1,722–1,727, support 1,705–1,700.

Read-through

Three sessions stuck around 1,714. MPI and PetDag showed selective buying; banks and Nestlé did not. Zetrix stayed the volume name but lost the deal bounce. Oil at US$100 is the swing factor into the rest of the week.
